It was not easy to find accommodations for the following reasons:

1. We were looking for ‘real’ budget ones. In fact, averagely the rate we paid was Rs 130 (RM10.00) per day per person.

2. By the time we arrived at a destination, it was well into the evening and most of the rooms were already taken especially along the ‘hotspots’.

3. January is still a ‘peak’ season in this part of India where many tourists from the northern hemisphere throng the beaches for some warmth and sunshine.
